ISE moving to Barcelona in 2021

WRITTEN ON 8 July, 2019

February is usually everyone’s least favourite month if you’re living in Europe – the brisk cold winds of winter are still in full swing, the days are painfully short, and spring just can’t seem to come soon enough. But this isn’t the case in the world of tech, with February being one of the most exciting months when it comes to events and conferences.

In February 2021 (which seems far away, but we all know how fast time flies in the world of technology), this dreary month will get some new rays of sunshine, with the revolutionary ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) event moving from Amsterdam, to our beloved sunny Barcelona.

That’s right, as of 2021, one of the most innovative and relevant tech conferences will join Mobile World Congress in the city’s Fira Gran Vía complex. Like a child outgrowing it’s first bicycle, ISE hosted a whopping 83,000 attendees in 2019, and the event has simply expanded beyond the Amsterdam complex’s capacity. Mike Blackman, Managing Director, commented: “The RAI and Amsterdam have provided a fantastic location…But, demand from exhibitors and the continued increase in the numbers of attendees, showed us that limited floor space was in danger of putting a brake on the shows development.”

There’s no doubt that the Fira Gran Via was the perfect relocation choice, with the venue boasting 400,000 square meters of floor space, not to mention its close proximity to public transportation and Barcelona’s international airport.

For those who are unfamiliar, ISE is the world’s largest AV and systems integration exhibition in Europe, exhibiting cutting edge technology for professionals working in the commercial and residential installation and integration marketplace. ISE houses the latest and greatest in digital signage, smart building services, and unified communication solutions, to name a few. Aside from its exhibitions, the trade show features a packed schedule of conferences, keynote speeches, and show floor features, making it an ideal and exciting base for networking and building your business network.

If that doesn’t give you reason enough to start checking flight prices, highlights of this year’s edition featured the world premiere of Sviatovid, a 360 degree projection sculpture from Bart Kresa, pictured below.

So, AV addicts and general techies of the world, rejoice! There’s a new exciting reason to start tapping your boss’s shoulder and suggesting a business trip to the sunny condal city. We hope to see you at this milestone event for the world’s largest AV and systems integration show.
