The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event, drawing professionals, executives, and industry leaders from around the globe. Held annually in Barcelona, MWC is a hub for innovation, networking, and learning. With thousands of exhibitors, keynotes by top leaders, and endless opportunities to connect, it’s an event no tech professional or enthusiast should miss. To make the most of your time at MWC, preparation is key, and this guide will walk you through everything you need to know.

Planning Your Trip to MWC

Planning your trip to Mobile World Congress well in advance is crucial for a stress-free experience. One of the first steps is to secure accommodation near the venue, as Barcelona gets incredibly busy during the event. Top hotels near Fira Gran Via, the main venue, include the Hotel Porta Fira, Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel, and the Hotel SB Plaza Europa. These hotels provide easy access to the venue and offer high-quality services to ensure your stay is comfortable.

Transportation is another critical aspect of planning. Barcelona’s public transport system, including the metro and buses, is efficient and well-connected to the event site. However, for executives and corporate teams seeking convenience and reliability, executive transportation services in Barcelona offered by EAS are an excellent option. These services provide luxury vehicles and professional chauffeurs to ensure seamless travel to and from the venue, as well as around the city.

But… First things first, so don’t forget to register for the event. Don’t hesitate to be what we call an “Early Bird”. Indeed, you can regularly check the MWC website or subscribe to their newsletters as  they often offer discounted passes if you register 3-6 months before the event. Be careful, if you want to save up some money, pass prices increase significantly closer to the event, so register as early as possible.

As for plane tickets, our best advice is to book yours 3 to 6 months prior to the event. A little reminder, MWC, happens in late February or early March, you should aim to book between September and December.

Usually, when you arrive you like to have an accommodation already booked where you can go and get some rest before enjoying the event. For that, it is better to plan ahead. As for late planners, consider nearby towns like L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Badalona, or even Sitges for better availability. And If you don’t want to be bothered with accommodations issues and just enjoy our stay, EAS would be delighted to take this in charge for you. Don’t hesitate to contact an expert.

Navigating Barcelona during MWC is seamless with a little planning.
